About Stump Removal

Stump removal is the process of using an excavator to dig around an entire tree stump and root ball, until it can be wrested completely from the ground.

Stump removal entails not only extracting the stump from the ground, but also all of the roots attached to it.

This naturally requires some heavy equipment. The equipment required and process involved can be damaging to the ground site. If there is grass, it will be unavoidably torn up, be prepared for this.

Generally speaking, full stump removal is only useful if you’re clearing an area, preparing for a construction project or large landscaping project.

For blown down trees though despite the likely damage to the surrounding area, removal is usually the right choice however, as grinding an uprooted stump is typically not possible.

To leave a level grade, the hole left behind will almost always require additional backfill material, either from elsewhere onsite, or brought in.

After the stump is removed what to do with it?
They are generally tough to burn (if that is even an option for you). To do so will usually require a large amount of brush and other wood to get a fire going strong enough to burn them.

If you have the space and can cope with "out of sight out mind" we can often
move them to an out of the way location on your property. Leaving them for you to burn or moving them some reasonable distance on your property general has no additional cost.

If those options aren't quite right for you,
we can of course haul it away, but that does incur cost. The cost for this varies, but is based on the dump fee, the mileage and number of trips needed. This disposal and transport fee will be part of the bid.
